The 2nd Quarter of Web Directory Reviews is About to Begin

Soon, Web Directory Reviews Org will begin its second round of web directory reviews. Our assessment criteria has been revamped and we're ready to try it out.

The top ten web directories from our first quarter of reviews -- Yahoo! Directory, GoGuides Directory, R-TT Web Directory, Aviva Directory, JoeAnt, Directory@v7n, Best of the Web, Jasmine Directory, Directory Journal, and WebSavvy Directory -- will be competing, during the second quarter of 2013, with ten other directories, which are yet to be named.

During the second quarter, we will be looking at web directories from the perspective of a directory user, rather than trying to combine the requirements of users with that of webmasters and search engine optimizers. Although I will continue to look and report on such matters as the cost of submissions as well as some of the available ranking tools, the web directory ratings will be compiled from those variables affecting the directory user's experience.

Our top ten list from the first quarter of 2013 can be found here, and our new assessment criteria is published here.

Another new development from Web Directory Reviews Org is a section where we give directory operators or their representatives the opportunity to speak to our readers through an online interview. Our first interview was with Robert G of the Jasmine Directory, and that interview can be found here.

Please, let us know what else you'd like to see, either in comments here or in our discussion forum.

Lastly, don't forget the WDR Directory of Directories if you are looking for some good directories to list your website in, or if you have a directory that you'd like to have listed. We're still too new to have PageRank but we do okay in the SERPs, we're well indexed, and traffic is brisk.
